Belfast City Hospital - Installation of Air Handling Plant

Details:

CHC Group were appointed as main contractor to supply and install new ventilation systems to two main operating theatres within Belfast City Hospital.

Works included:

• The removal existing air handling plants from the Tower Block roof top plant and installation of new units
• Building a new plant room to serve the A&E theatres
• The installation of new air handling units, chilled water units, stream lines, plate heat exchangers and associated pipe and duct systems.
• All associated electrical work, building work and automatic controls.

This was quite a challenging project as all works were undertaken in a live hospital environment with several operational restrictions in relation to working times, space, health and safety. CHC successfully overcome the challenges to deliver the project on time and budget.
